Results
Results take effect after 24 hours once the swelling has go down and the skin starts to repair the cells.
Improve acne scarring, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture and the early signs of ageing with SkinPen®—the UK’s first FDA-cleared microneedling device.
SkinPen® works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen and elastin production, helping your skin repair and regenerate from within. Unlike treatments that rely on heat or chemicals, microneedling supports your skin’s own healing processes to create healthier, smoother, more resilient skin over time.
At Face Oxford, every treatment is tailored to your skin concerns and goals. Whether you’re looking to improve acne scars, refresh tired skin or simply maintain healthy skin as you age, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan designed around you.
Why choose SkinPen®?
- UK’s first FDA-cleared microneedling device
- Clinically proven to stimulate collagen
- Suitable for all skin types
- Minimal downtime
SkinPen® is a versatile treatment that can improve a wide range of skin concerns, including acne scarring, enlarged pores, uneven texture, fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks and overall skin quality. It is suitable for many patients looking to support healthier, stronger and more resilient skin.
SkinPen® creates thousands of tiny, controlled microchannels within the skin. These stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing response, encouraging the production of new collagen and elastin.
Over time, this process helps improve skin texture, firmness and overall skin quality, whilst reducing the appearance of acne scars, fine lines and enlarged pores.
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment to maximise comfort. Most patients describe the sensation as mild vibration or light scratching. Treatment is generally very well tolerated.
Immediately after treatment, the skin typically appears pink or red, similar to mild sunburn. Most redness settles within 24–48 hours, although this can vary depending on treatment intensity and individual skin response.
You may also experience mild dryness, tightness or flaking as the skin renews itself.
Yes. SkinPen® has an excellent safety profile when performed by trained practitioners. It was the first microneedling device to receive FDA clearance and is suitable for all skin types and skin colours.
We can treat many areas, but the most common are: face, décolletage, chest, hands, hair, stretch marks, burns, other scarring.
Absolutely. SkinPen® works particularly well alongside evidence-based skincare and may also be combined with treatments such as exosomes, polynucleotides, LED therapy and chemical peels as part of a personalised treatment plan.
Many patients notice an improvement in skin radiance and texture within a few weeks. However, collagen remodelling is a gradual process and improvements continue to develop over several months following treatment.
This depends on your skin concerns and goals. For acne scarring and skin rejuvenation, we commonly recommend a course of three treatments spaced approximately 4–6 weeks apart. Your treatment plan will be tailored during your consultation.
£265 per session (suitable for your yearly maintenance session).
£660 for a course of three
£1200 for a course of six
Additional areas, LED add ons, skin boosters and PRP available. You can check prices of each of these on our booking site.

How to prepare your skin for Dermaplaning?
• Stop exfoliating: To ensure the skin is not damaged by over-exfoliation, discontinue all exfoliants, including AHAs, BHAs, enzymes, micro-beads, and retinoids for five to seven days.
• Skip the retinol and the sunbathing: If you’re currently using Retin-A, discontinue use for seven to fourteen days prior to the treatment. You should also avoid sun exposure for five to seven days prior to ensure you do not have a sunburn.
• Let your hair grow: Hair removal such as waxing, threading, and shaving should be avoided for at least two weeks before dermaplaning.
• If you breakout… In the event of active acne and raised lesions on the day of treatment, it’s best to reschedule until the skin is fully healed. There is also a six-month waiting period after Roaccutane.

Aftercare?
Your skin is able to absorb products more easily, so really a good skincare regime is recommended after dermaplaning. In addition, you will be more sensitive to UV light, so SPF 50 is essential.
Full aftercare instructions will be provided.
